Mold spores surround us everywhere. Unfortunately, it is possible to completely get rid of them only in the laboratory. But you can prevent the mold from multiplying, taking root on the walls, furniture and household appliances. In the washing machine, in conditions of high humidity, the mold feels very good. And if you air the machine and the bathroom insufficiently often, the laundry after washing starts to get a musty smell.

This is an alarm signal. Probably, the machine is infected with mold fungi, which are toxic and can cause allergic reactions, and even provoke dangerous diseases. As soon as you have suspicions of such an unpleasant neighborhood, immediately treat the washing machine with a disinfectant.

Choose the maximum temperature at which your machine is capable of working (most likely it is 90 degrees), and turn on the mode without soaking and pressing. If this is not possible, simply choose “cotton”.

Step 1: Rinse the machine at maximum temperature.

The first stage of getting rid of mold is mechanical rinsing. Therefore, first of all, you need to start the machine to work at the highest temperature without any means. If the water in the machine is not enough, you can add it forcibly programmatically (if your machine has such a function) or by pouring water into the receiver for detergents. For the most economic machines need about a bucket of water.

Step 2: Take out the receiver detergent

If the tray for pouring detergent can be removed from the machine, pull it out and rinse separately. If you are afraid to break the tray, you can leave it in place and pour the necessary chemicals directly into it.

Step 3: Add Chlorine Bleach

Pour the usual whiteness, or other liquid chlorine-based bleach into the filler neck of the machine. If you did not reach the tray, pour the whiteness into the detergent tray. Perform such a procedure while the machine is in operation, because if you pour the product in advance, most of it will wash off and will not work properly on the mold. Pour into the machine a whole bottle of white.

Step 4: Wait for the heating and stop the washing.

After the machine heats the water to the maximum temperature, you can stop the washing and let the product work. You can click to pause. Do not be alarmed if the machine refuses to execute the command - this can happen because of the high level of water in it. In this case, simply turn off the wash without draining the water. Leave the bleach solution for a few hours.

Step 5: Resume Washing

After a few hours of soaking, turn on the machine again and allow it to complete the wash cycle.

Step 6: Second Wash

Start another washing mode by adding 2/3 bottles of 9% vinegar to the water. Add a rinse mode to this cycle.

Step 7: Remove mold by hand

It is better to wipe off any mold that has been killed by chemicals with a towel or sponge with a cleaning agent. If the machine is infected too much, repeat the whole cycle in a few days.

Step 8: Periodically Prevent Mold Formation

At least once a month, start the machine at the highest temperature with vinegar, citric acid or a special anti-scale agent.
